The first day of Summer ...
Carries with it warm winds and an optimism to end the year that's been and begin the new year that's coming, well.
It's also the first day of December. The countdown begins for Christmas ... the calendar plumps out with festive engagements and the mad dash of gifts and wrapping up the office and school year ensues.
Ahh ... can we press the pause button!?
We've been having lengthy conversations in store about slowing down and 'taking it outside' for the season.
Enjoying the Summer opportunity of getting out of our walls. Soaking in the sun, the sky, the oxygen ... and all of our glorious urban surrounds.
The Gold Coast is truly a magnificent contemporary landscape. Lined on the east, with iconic golden beaches and the west, the juxtaposition of a dense hinterland ... the #DwellOutside opportunities are endless.

YOUR HOME ; There's no place like it. But instead of enjoying time at the kitchen table. Let's move it out. To the balcony, for a cheese platter. To the pool, for a bbq. To the back yard, for a picnic under the sky. It's amazing how making the effort to sit in a new space can leave you inspired and refreshed.
THE BROADWATER ; In her prime, ready for next years Commonwealth Games, the Broadwater at Southport is looking perfectly urban at the moment. The bridge to the Aquatic Centre is sprinkled with contemporary art, walking paths, meditation spaces, landscape installations, play parks for the children and of course, a bay of swim opportunities. If you can be lucky enough to secure a glass off morning (or evening!), a picnic table with the boats in the Marina is pure magic.
THE GC ARTS CENTRE PRECINCT ; Our favourite cultural complex, the parkland surrounding the Arts Centre is picturesque. If you're heading down to enjoy a movie or concert, make the effort to pack a styling rug and some refreshments. Or leave time after visiting the weekly farmers market and enjoy some time under the trees with our iconic skyline in the background.
THE BOTANICAL GARDENS ; Nestled a small drive from the coastline, the gardens are such a refreshing urban opportunity. Thoughtfully manicured, the outdoor sitting opportunities are endless. With play parks for the children or private spaces by the ponds, what a perfect place to connect with friends ... or a great book!
BURLEIGH HILL ; There's no place more iconically Gold Coast ... than the view from Burleigh Hill. The perfect expanse of green grass with the breathtaking view looking North back to the skyline of Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise ... invites you to #DwellWell.
FROGGY'S BEACH ; The sweetest wedge of Sand on the Gold Coast. Just between Rainbow Bay and Point Danger you'll be led by an extensive winding boardwalk to this private patch of paradise. Tuck in beside a wind protected rock, begin your shell hunting collection, take a dip in the ocean pool and you'll never want to leave.
THE OPEN BEACH ; We'll always be loyal to our local (our's is Main Beach) ... But any stretch of sand on the Gold Coast is a Summer picnic must. Guaranteed to be sand filled and super fun, it's the time to get the shoes off.
