Follow The Light. Basil Bangs Beach Tents Make Sunshine Days Last Longer.
Say hello to all your favourite prints ... and extended sunshine moments.
The beach umbrellas are the perfect Australian lifestyle item – for the beach, home, picnic or sunny café setting.
We were lucky to connect this week with Basil Bangs Founder & Designer, Krista Huebner to chat all things style, swim spots & seasonal menus.
"We’re very spoilt with our local beach, Freshwater. It's pretty lovely, with rock pools, an ocean pool, a rock shelf with a 'secret bear cave’ AND (usually) pretty family friendly waves. I like to do the ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ swim in Manly that takes you around into Shelley Beach and back. It's usually pretty magical often with sooooo many fish it's hard to know where to look. I pinch myself regularly that this is all on our doorstep. Also on the beaches but a bit further afield, we love heading up to Snapperman’s beach in Palm Beach when it’s onshore and a bit blustery and an ocean beach isn’t the pick. It's gorgeous in the afternoon and the kids run around playing a muck. I daydream about buying a beach side home and generally just enjoy the holiday vibes. We recently swam at GLORIOUS Chinaman’s beach, around the corner near Balmoral and it was sooo pretty. I can thank Mr Ken Done for that recommendation! Otherwise, further afield, any of the little pockets in and around Jervis Bay are pretty incredible and up near Bluey’s and Seal Rocks. or Crescent Head - really, there’s too many amazing places to mention!!"
How will you be styling Basil Bangs this Christmas?
"We will be in a holiday house on North Straddy for Christmas so it will no doubt be a hotch potch of things. The best kind of styling - it’s gonna be real, friends. That said, I’ll be taking up my Pony Rider Christmas tree wall hanging in lieu of a real tree, some bunting and string lights, and we’ll go for a little neighbourhood walk to scavenge some native leaves to decorate the table. Of course will be taking up a couple of tablecloths and placemats for the day! But other than that it’s all about cool drinks, early christmas day swims, beautiful food and hilarious kris kringle games."
Menu plans for Christmas day?
"We’re all contributing a dish or two, so not really sure what the day will bring. We’re all foodies and love our sides, with a couple of chefs and top shelf cooks in the bunch I dare say the standard will be high. The best bit is the Boxing day leftovers though, let’s be honest. YUM YUM YUM. Hopefully there’s prawns and bubbly in the mix. "
