Catch Up. Coffee. Connect.  Three of our favourite words.

And with these sun filled, cool days there's no better way to spend a day than a bike ride with your favourite person to your local caffeine hit.

And hey, a good menu never goes astray.

Kudos to the Gold Coast ATM.  The cafe scene is strong.  So much goes into creating a great hospitality space.  From the fit out to the menu plan, the service to the space vibe.  Here's our list, north to south, of our favourite GC spaces for morning treats.

In other news ... Elms & King has arrived, in all of it's new season glory.  The perfect bag collection to fill with your essentials and head out – on your bike.

DAARK ESPRESSO IN CHIRN PARK || Starting as a small espresso space on the wrong side of the street, growing into a 'wait in line' breakfast destination, Daark is a must visit if you're north of the Southport bridge.  The coffee is strong, the eggs are delicious and the play list is enviable.  Oh, and they're small dog friendly!  More here.

PEARL & ASH AT BRICKWORKS || Great news. There's a new caffeine hit to choose from at the Brickworks Centre.  The long awaited 'Pearl & Ash' space has now opened - in contemporary design glory.  We're yet to try the extended menu (reads well) but the coffee gets our tick of approval!

HOT SHOTT IN MAIN BEACH || A long term Main Beach favourite.  Hot Shott is one of those spots where the people watching is as good as the coffee.  Perfectly located one block back from the beach front, it's the perfect stop in before (or after) your morning swim. More here.

ELK ESPRESSO AT BROADBEACH || The evolution story of Elk Espresso is as good as the hospitality offering.  Local entrepreneur, Andrew Whiting started his hospitality journey years back with the humble Vintage space - an eclectic selection of grandma's chairs and tables - and coffee to die for.  His reputation was quickly sealed, selling the business and then opening Elk on (the perhaps risky) destination space on Chelsea Avenue.  The menu had his back - table lines prevailed - and Elk has since moved to the premium beach front space in the Oasis Centre.  More here.

PADDOCK BAKERY AT MIAMI || In a town of new-shiny-new the historic values of Paddock are as refreshing as their juices.  From the relocated 1950's cottage to the salvaged vintage wood fire oven, sitting amongst a slightly wild garden - a visit to Paddock is like a trip to the country - where the doughnuts are really, really good. FREEDOM HUB AT PALM BEACH || Coffee tastes better when it's supporting a (really) good cause. With spaces in Palm Beach & Wooloomoolo, Sydney - Freedom Hub is a Social Enterprise that raises awareness and money for modern day slavery.  In addition to their delicious cafe - they run an incredible enterprise called Survivor School - which retrains and supports people that have been encapsulated in slavery in Australia.  More here.

BAREFOOT BARISTA AT BURLEIGH & PALM BEACH || If you've ever met BB owner, Dean Hyland, you'll know that the Barefoot Barista is a real persona.  Another cool growth story, Liz & Dean launched Barefoot as a tiny space on Palm Beach avenue - way before the scene was as bustling as it is now.   They expanded both the Barefoot space in Palm Beach, traveled up the road with beachfront sister space, Borough due to their incredible coffee, first-name friendly vibe & Liz's radically delicious home made muffins.  More here.
